The main objective of Fairview Child Development Center is to provide families with the highest quality, affordable childcare available for their children.

The goal is to create an environment that is safe, nurturing and stimulates growth.  Children will learn through an active process of playing, observing, exploring, questioning and interacting with other children and adults.

Another very important goal is to ensure that all children are recognized for their competence and effort.  The program is designed to be respectful of every child's ethnicity, home language and developmental needs.

The curriculum will include activities that are planned according to developmental readiness, as well as activities planned to meet individual needs and interests. The daily schedule will be consistent, yet flexible enough to accommodate children's temperamental and physiological needs.  Parents and teachers will contribute to the planning process by developing, receiving and posting a weekly activity calendar (monthly for infants).

Individual routines will also be tracked daily for children enrolled in the classrooms designed for birth to three care.  Parents will receive a copy of the daily experience sheet, and may contribute to individual planning the following day.

All children will have a comprehensive portfolio maintained by the teachers to document physical, emotional and cognitive growth.  Portfolios are an essential function of the childcare management system.  They will also factor into the accountability for the program goals and objectives.
