FAIRVIEW
Fairview’s giving opportunities:
Fairview is a not-for-profit organization providing independent retirement living, and skilled nursing facilities on our Groton, Connecticut, campus overlooking the Thames River. Donations from our supporters enable us to continue our high standards of care while providing the latest in facilities for our residents.
Honor and Memorial Contributions
Contributions in memory of a loved one or to honor someone on a special day can be made to a specified fund (Residents Fund, Land Development Fund, Endowment, or the Annual Fund).
Annual Giving
Our Annual Campaign is the opportunity to support Fairview through the years. Your annual gift will be used for our program of continuously improving equipment and facilities.
Building Fund Complete
Fairview embarked on a major building project in March of 2005 when it broke ground on a 16,246 square foot addition to our existing building and a renovation of our existing 120 bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. The new addition and renovation was completed in 2007. The project has allowed us to provide 16 larger semi-private rooms, a large start-of-the-art rehabilitation center and a new bistro-café. Nursing stations have been enlarged and updated with the latest technology, new water view dining rooms and family lounges offer a relaxing place to enjoy a visit or a meal, and all of our residents’ rooms have been renovated and are equipped with telephones and free cable television.
Land Development Fund
Fairview is in the process of developing a portion of its open space into more independent living. Plans call for an initial phase of 23 villa-type residences along with a recreation building and a seasonal pool. The units will be built around a “town green” whose focal point will be an attractive gazebo surrounded by flowering gardens. Assuming Town officials approve our plans we anticipate breaking ground sometime in 2012. We are seeking funds to help pay for this expansion. Endowment
Fairview’s endowment is used to fund future land development and for emergency situations. A portion of the interest earned each year is also used to offset operational costs.
