KRIEGLER WING AT FAIRVIEW ODD FELLOWS HOME OF CT

FAIRVIEW RECEIVES LARGEST DONATION IN ITS HISTORY

by Marisa Nadolny

The Times Group

GROTON—Fairview, the region’s only non-profit health care facility, recently received a large financial contribution which will be used to help cover costs of the new wing recently added to the facility.

The gift of $647,000 was donated to Fairview by the late Elizabeth and Miriam Kriegler in memory of their parents.

James Malloy, Administrator of Fairview, described the gift as “the largest single donation in Fairview’s 114 year history.”  “It’s ironic that the largest gift in our history was received at the same time we were being challenged to raise funds for our $6 million dollar renovation and expansion program.  We are most grateful to all of our supporters, especially the Kriegler family.”

The Kriegler sisters were active members of the Odd Fellows organization for over 50 years.

The gift will be used to allay expenses on the new Kriegler wing of Fairview, which includes a restaurant that serves full-course meals to families who are visiting relatives. There will be a special dedication service in the spring, but the restaurant and other rehabilitation facilities are already open and functioning in the new wing.

Fairview is a 120 bed non-profit skilled nursing care and rehabilitation facility located in Groton.  For more information regarding Fairview’s long-term care and rehabilitation services contact Ryan Bishop at 860-445-7478 or bishopr@oddfellowsct.com.
